Just like petrol and diesel cars, EV’s need regular servicing to ensure they run well. Although they have fewer moving parts than a diesel or petrol vehicle, components such as the battery, motor, and brakes still require regular care and maintenance.

How Often Should I Service an Electric Car? 

In general EV’s need servicing less often compared to a regular diesel or petrol car. With most* manufacturers recommending they are carried out every 2 years or after 18,000 miles depending on which comes first. In comparison a typical petrol car requires maintenance after 10,000 miles or after 1 year depending on what comes first.

How Much Does an Electric Car Service Cost?

Typically Electric Vehicles are a similar price or sometimes less expensive than a regular service. EVs have fewer components that wear out and fewer fluids that need replacing. There are no timing belts, clutches, spark plugs, exhaust systems or oil filters.

Typical items checked or replaced in an EV service include:
